CX (110) is a conceptual library center for New York City sports fans to explore sports and athletics. The library would work with NYC Parks, major league sports, and local schools to push the growth of sports-play from childhood to adulthood. CX would explore the history behind the games and promote social involvement through activities, lectures, and live sports screenings.
The logo forms an X from two baseball diamonds. This stems from the history of sports in new york city, which was the center of baseball in the late 1800s. The first baseball game was across the Hudson in Jersey, the first enclosed stadium in Williamsburg (the second in Bedstey), and the vast amount of teams and ballparks that came and left the 5 boroughs. The Blue and Orange come from the top baseball rivals of the Giants at the Harlem Polo Grounds and the Dodgers at the Flatbush Ebbets Field.
