Concept/ HCD/ Branding
The brochure informed Sunnyside, Queens, residents of an up-and-coming Super Project in their neighborhood. The core idea of the brochure was to promote participation and inclusion in the neighborhood. The brochure starts with a call to action. It then explains the project and gives the resident an option to initiate participation through a prestamped postcard. The more people who have a voice and participate in the development, the more accountability the government will have to build a fair project for its surrounding neighborhoods.
Sunnyside to Action is a fake organization built for the project. The mark was built from arrows to symbolize action. The arrow tails were removed to bring closure around the triangles and create the perception of the sun. The thick stroked san serif represents the 60s and 70’s movement posters and gives the logo a friendly tone. The color pallet was taken straight from photos of sunnyside to represent the location.
